BIOGRAPHY
​Christophe Meray discovered his passion for music at the age of 10 in Neufchâteau, France, where he immersed himself in classical music and quickly progressed to playing with local bands and the Jazz Big Band scene. His musical journey continued in Nancy, France, where alongside his studies in Computer Science, he deepened his commitment to jazz at the Nancy International Music Academy (CMCN), performing with esteemed groups like the Big Band du Conservatoire de Nancy, Lorraine Jazz Big Band, and the energetic Little Big Horn Jazz Band.
Christophe’s performances at renowned festivals such as Nancy Jazz Pulsations have showcased his exceptional talent and versatility. Moving to Miami, Florida, Christophe became an integral part of the city’s vibrant jazz scene. His trumpet skills have graced stages around the world, performing alongside legends such as Arturo Sandoval, Ed Calle, and Nestor Torres. Christophe’s influences span the jazz spectrum, drawing inspiration from icons like Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard, and John Coltrane, among others.
In addition to trumpet, Christophe is proficient in Flugelhorn and Valve Trombone, adding depth and variety to his musical repertoire.
Despite his demanding career in technology, Christophe’s heart remains in music. He is well-known in Miami’s jazz community, recognized for his soulful performances with bands including Magic City Jazztet, Miami Jazz Cats, Miami Wave, Rhythm and Emotion, and the RB Big Band.
Christophe’s artistry extends beyond live performances. He has participated in multiple albums, including his notable involvement in the 2015 Latin Grammy-winning “Dr. Ed Calle presents Mamblue,” where his trumpet contributions on tracks like “Calming Blue” highlight his virtuosity and deep musicality.
With a career defined by excellence in both music and technology, Christophe Meray continues to inspire audiences with his masterful trumpet playing and unwavering dedication to jazz.
